Reviewing a commercial unit sales contract before you sign
Published 2026-11-12
- Check the parties' details, the seller's capacity and its ownership of the land or its right to sell.
- Review the unit description precisely: number, floor, area and its place in the building.
- Read the price terms and payment plan: down payment, number and dates of instalments, and what happens on late payment.
- Fix the agreed handover date and the clauses on late delivery.
- Ask for the handover specification: core and shell, semi-finished or fully finished.
- Ask about maintenance fees, the owners' association and registration, and who pays them.
- Have a lawyer review the contract before signing, and keep a signed copy of every document. This article is general information, not legal advice.
